Seismic upgrades to the Lab II building on all three floors. The work entails the installation of a concrete shear wall on each floor. Alternate work is to add piers and a shear wall at the first level on the south side of the building

Notice to Proceed will be issued approximately two weeks after the bid opening. Work on site may not begin until June 19, 2017. Substantial Completion is due August 21, 2017.

The State of Washington prevailing wage rates are applicable for this public works project located in Thurston County.  Bidders are responsible to verify and use the most recent prevailing wage rates.  The “Effective Date” for this project is the Bid Proposal due date above.  The applicable prevailing wage rates may be found on the Department of Labor and Industries website located at  A copy of the most current Prevailing Wage Rates can be viewed in the Owner’s offices or the Owner will email a copy of any applicable wage rates upon written request.

Mandatory 0 % apprentice labor hours of the total labor hours  are a requirement of the construction contract.  Voluntary workforce diversity goals  for this apprentice  participation  are  identified in the Instructions to Bidders and Supplemental Conditions.  Bidders may contact the Department of Labor & Industries, Apprenticeship Section, to obtain information on available apprenticeship programs.

Voluntary numerical MWBE goals of 10% MBE and 8% WBE have been established for this project.  Achievement of the goals is encouraged.  However no minimum level of MWBE participation shall be required as a condition of contract award.  Bids will not be rejected or considered nonresponsive if they do not include MWBE participation.  Bidders may contact the Office of Minority and Womens Business Enterprise to obtain information on certified firms.
