OMWBE Business Planner Materials

We are pleased to present the OMWBE’s 2010 Business Planner Materials.

All sessions are optional. They are held twice each month. We hope they are a forum where the participants not only learn about agency opportunities, but also network to build business relationships and discuss the important issues impacting minority and women small businesses. Each session features one or more agencies discussing their specific contracting/procurement opportunities, bidding procedures, licensing requirements, or a business “sustainability” program.

• Question:  How does Commerce select bidders for translation and interpreter services?
• Answer:  In the past, we have used a DSHS list for interpreter services.  In addition, our policy is to search WEBS and the OMWBE list for both translator and interpreter services.
• Question:   How does Commerce select bidders for video, art and photography services?
• Answer:  We use WEBS and the OMWBE list.  In areas of specialties, there may also be names of firms in trade publications that come to the attention of program managers.  Or, firm names who have done the work in the past may be included in the selection process.
