Seattle SBA to Co-Host Business Class in Chinese Language @ Hing Hay Coworks Community Learning Space

SEATTLE – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Seattle District Office will co-host their first Chinese language business class at the Hing Hay Coworks Community Learning Space on Tuesday, March 28 from 3 – 4:30 p.m. The class subject is “Grow Your Small Business” and specifically targets Cantonese-speaking restaurant owners in the International District/Chinatown area, but it is open to all small businesses looking for strategies and resources to grow.

Seattle’s International District/Chinatown is home to a vibrant hub of small businesses who bring international flavor to Seattle from all over the world. According to statisticalatlas.com, 22 percent of residents in that neighborhood speak Chinese in their homes.

“Grow Your Small Business” is a product of the collaboration between the SBA, Hing Hay Coworks, the City of Seattle’s Restaurant Success Program, and a multilingual business mentor from SBA resource partner SCORE.

“Our office is proud to offer this Cantonese language business class to the residents of the International District,” said SBA District Director Kerrie Hurd. “This is a great opportunity to serve small businesses we have not previously been able to reach with our free business programming.”

Title: University of Washington Supplier Orientation

The University of Washington (UW) is pleased to offer monthly orientations for suppliers interested in doing business with the University and the State of Washington. Sessions will be held on the Seattle and Tacoma Attendees will receive information about the University and State procurement processes.

Each session is limited to 15 attendees and will include a short presentation and an opportunity to network with other suppliers and staff from UW Procurement Services, UW Business Diversity, UW Foster School Consulting and Business Development and State Department of Enterprise Services (DES).

Please register for a session convenient for you, if this general overview seems to be a good fit for you. The registration includes a short survey that will provide us information about your business so we can address the potential business opportunities for your company.
