TOWN OF BUCODA

 

2020 CDBG WATERMAIN REPLACEMENT

 

Invitation: The Town of Bucoda is seeking bids from qualified, licensed and bonded contractors to complete the 2020 CDBG Watermain Replacement Project located on Nenant Street and other streets and alleys in the Town of Bucoda. This project is funded through the Thurston County Housing and Community Renewal programs with federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This project is subject to Federal Davis-Bacon and Washington State Prevailing Wages. All work performed on this project will be subject to the higher of the prevailing state and federal wage rates.

 

Bid Documents: Free-of-charge access to project bid documents (plans, specifications, addenda, and Bidders List) is provided to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors, and Vendors by going to  www.bxwa.com and selecting "Posted Projects", "Public Works", and "Town of Bucoda". This online plan room provides Bidders with fully usable online documents with the ability to: download, view, print, order full/partial plan sets from numerous reprographic sources, and a free online digitizer/take-off tool. It is recommended that Bidders “Register” in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and to place themselves on the “Self-Registered Bidders List". Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda and will need to periodically check the on-line plan room for addenda issued on this project.  Contact Builders Exchange of Washington at (425) 258-1303 should you require assistance with access or registration.

 

Scope of Work: The scope of work consists of construction of approximately 2900 LF of Watermain, approximately 23 water valves approximately 3 fire hydrant assemblies, air-release valves, pipe fittings, water services, trench restoration, surface restoration and other site improvements, other distribution system improvements, and related work as shown on the plans, and as described in the Project Manual.

 

Engineer’s Estimate: $570,000 to $630,000.

 

Proposals for this work must be sealed and marked: “Town of Bucoda 2020 CDBG Watermain Replacement” and filed with the Town Clerk/Treasurer at the Town of Bucoda offices located at the intersection of South Main Street and East 7^th Street in Bucoda, WA 98530 by 10:00 am November 3, 2020. Responses submitted by that time will be publicly opened and read aloud. Responses received after that time will not be considered. Do not send bids by US Postal Service.

 

Small, minority and/or women-owned firms and Section 3 Contractors are encouraged to submit bids. The Town of Bucoda is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer. The selected Contractor will contract directly with The Town of Bucoda.

 

A certified or bank cashier’s check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount, payable to The Town of Bucoda, or a bid bond executed by a licensed bonding company is required with each bid. Any bid not accompanied by bid security or data required by the bidding documents or a bid in any way incomplete or irregular shall be determined to be non-responsive. The Town of Bucoda reserves the right and discretion to reject any and all bids, and to accept the lowest responsible bidder which, in it’s judgment, will best serve the interest of The Town of Bucoda.
