6th Street Bridge Replacement Improvements, Pomeroy WA

Project:           6th Street Bridge Replacement Improvements

Sealed bids for the following described construction will be received by the City of Pomeroy:

 

In the main conference room at the City of Pomeroy City Hall, N. 80 7th Street, Pomeroy, Washington, until 10:00 a.m., P.D.T. January 31, 2019 at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

 

Bids must be completed on a lump sum and unit price basis as indicated on the BID PROPOSAL, and the total as defined in the Special Provisions will be used for the purpose of comparison of bids for the 6th Street Bridge Replacement Project.  Award of the construction contract will be to the lowest responsible bidder.

 

Work includes removing the existing bridge, including abutments, wingwalls, girders, and parapets; construction of new pile footings and concrete pile cap abutments and wingwalls; installation of pre-cast concrete girders; construction of concrete parapets and sidewalk on the bridge; minor stream channel alteration; excavation of the embankment and streambank, replacement of water main including temporary services, storm drain modifications including installation of a water quality manhole,  asphalt pavement, permanent striping and signing, and other related work.  Information regarding bidding procedures, Special Provisions, Bid Form, Contract Form, Drawings, Specifications, Contract Bonds, and Other Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations:

Copies of plans and specifications may be obtained at the office of TD&H Engineering, 210 Main Street, Lewiston, ID 83501, (208) 746-0938, at a cost of $50.00.

 

The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities, minor defects, or to reject any or all bids.  Each bidder must deposit with his or her bid, security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid amount, subject to the conditions provided for in the bid procedures and conditions.

 

The City of Pomeroy, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000-d to 2000-4, and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination on federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or national origin in consideration for an award.

 

Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract.

 

This project is being jointly funded through Washington State Department of Transportation Federal Highway Bridge Program and Washington State Transportation Improvement Program.

 

No bidder may withdraw his or her bid within thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

 

Prospective Bidders shall make all requests for clarifications related to the project to TD&H Engineering in writing no later than 5 business days prior to the bid opening.  No verbal clarifications will be made.

 

Prospective Bidders are required to participate in a mandatory project walk-through prior to bidding.  The project walk-through will be January 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
