Lyden Levee Channel Realignment Project

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by Whatcom County Administrative Services Finance/Purchasing at their office on the fifth floor of the Whatcom County Courthouse, 311 Grand Avenue Suite 503, Bellingham WA 98225 for the following:

LYNDEN LEVEE CHANNEL REALIGNMENT PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 718005

UNTIL: 2:30 PM Tuesday April 27, 2021

At which time and place the bids will be publicly opened (live via GoToMeeting) and read aloud. All bidders and any other interested people are invited to be present. Late submittals will not be considered.

Whatcom County Flood Control Zone District is requesting bids for the Lynden Levee Channel Realignment Project, Project No. 718005. This project provides a new conveyance channel west of the Lynden Waste Water Treatment Plant in Lynden, Washington. The project will reroute a narrow and eroding channel with a larger, fish friendly channel that is away from the city pond, reroute a swale channel and connect it with the larger channel prior to both channels being routed together in a new culvert under the levee (culvert work is separate from this project), and other work, as further described in the bid documents.

Award will be made to the lowest qualified bidder. Whatcom County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any irregularities. Whatcom County encourages disadvantaged, minority and women owned firms to respond.

Whatcom County, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.

As required by law, the E-Verify System may be required.
