Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Design-Build Services - 208055 Burke- Gilman Trail Transit Access, Safety Efficiency Improvements

General: The University of Washington (University or UW) is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified design-build teams (which may include joint ventures) to design and construct the 208055 Burke- Gilman Train Transit Access, Safety Efficiency Improvements project.

Project Description: Project scope includes widening the footprint of Burke Gilman Trail on the University of Washington Seattle campus to accommodate projected future demand. The project spans approximately one mile of the trail; including repaving and creating bike/pedestrian mode separation from Rainier Vista through NE 47th St to the degree feasible, based on available funding. Existing site conditions include connections with ADA pathways, vehicular and bike/pedestrian intersections, and environmentally critical areas including steep slopes. Construction phasing and the management of temporary pedestrian and bike traffic is a significant project issue and will require diligent planning in collaboration with the UW as well as WSDOT, the UW’s funding partner.

The project budget is $16,725,000.00. The target budget for all work to be provided under the designbuild contract is $12,300,000.00.

Obtaining the RFQ: A copy of the RFQ with additional information about the project and the selection process will be available on January 28, 2026 via Workday Strategic Sourcing: https://university-of-washington.public-portal.us.workdayspend.com/ . Any addenda issued for the RFQ will be published at the same website address. If you are unable to download the RFQ or addenda, you may contact the individual noted at the end of this notice.

Questions: All questions regarding this RFQ should be addressed to Holly Simon, Project Manager, University of Washington Project Delivery Group, (206)221-4222 or hbsimon@uw.edu.
