The Office of Insurance Commissioner (OIC) is initiating this Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit responses from individuals or firms interested in participating on a project to review certain carrier policies and procedures to assess compliance with Washington State and federal behavioral health parity laws. Specifically, the contractor will review the development, substance, and application of carriers’ mental health and substance use disorder treatment prior authorization and utilization management policies and procedures (including medical necessity policies) and comparable medical/surgical policies and procedures to assess compliance.
