Invitation to Bid: The Thurston County Food Bank (TCFB) is seeking a qualified Design/Build General Contracting firm to lead the development of the Lacey Client Service Center on 7027 Martin Way E, Olympia, WA.  The project is a partnership between the TCFB, Thurston County, Washington State, North Thurston School District, the City of Lacey, and the Lacey Chamber of Commerce. There is also a Veteran’s Garden on the site that will be managed by GRuB (Garden-Raised Bounty).

Funding Source:  The project is partially funded through the Thurston County Housing and Community Renewal program with federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  This project is subjected to Federal Davis-Bacon and Washington State Prevailing Wages.  All work performed on this project will be subjected to the higher of the prevailing stand and federal wage rates.  Additional funds are available through a Washington State Department of Commerce grant as well as the Thurston County Food Bank.

Scope of Work:  The project involves the remodel of existing buildings on a site into a farm stand, food pantry for the Lacey community.  Site will also include a Veteran’s Garden that will be managed by GRuB that needs to be comprehended in the project planning. The scope of the Design/Build project includes implementing site improvements (pavement and stormwater management) that complies with City, County land use, and stormwater management codes that apply to the project.  Project scope also includes evaluation of existing structures on the site and provide recommendations to the owner on what is required to remodel each building.  The final objective is to open a Food Stand and Food Pantry for the City of Lacey by end of 2019.
