BID NOTICE

The Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma will receive sealed bids for Bid# 2018-24, PDZA – Asia Forest
Sanctuary Drainage Project, at the office of Planning, Design & Development, Metropolitan Park District of
Tacoma, 4702 S 19th Street, Tacoma WA 98405 until 2 p.m., December 10, 2018. Bids will be opened and
publicly read aloud at 2:05 p.m. Bids received after the appointed time set for receipt will be returned unopened.

The project includes, but is not limited to:
The removal of existing soils in two animal exhibits, installation of new improved drain lines
and other storm water improvements, importation of new soils and regrading of the exhibit
areas to include pathways, decorative shotcrete and rockwork as well as the planting of grasses
and other fauna appropriate for drainage and animal exhibits.

Minority & Women Owned Enterprises (MWBE) participation will apply.
Metro Parks Tacoma encourages an MWBE goal of eight percent (8%) on a Public Works PROJECT
ESTIMATED AT $20,000.00 OR MORE including Subcontractors: The Washington State Office of Minority
and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE) certifies firms that are owned and controlled by minorities or
women, and can provide information regarding the certification process. Information about the certification status

The base bid estimate range is $150,000 - $170,000. Time of completion is 60 calendar days.

A pre-bid meeting will be held at PDZA - Main Gate, 5400 N Pearl St., Tacoma WA 98407 on November 27,
2018, at 10:00 a.m. Bidders are encouraged to visit the site prior to the pre-bid conference.
