The Department of Commerce is currently offering an opportunity for firms to apply for a competitive funding solicitation to conduct research and analysis to support directives in legislation passed during the 2019 legislative session (2SHB 1344 and E2SHB 1391). This legislation requires the Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Department of Children Youth and Families and the Child Care Collaborative Task Force, to contract with a third party to conduct extensive research that is to culminate in a strategy, timeline and implementation plan to reach the goal of affordable and accessible child care for all Washington families by 2025. Legislation also directs the state’s Department of Children, Youth and Families to analyze and make recommendations about adjusting the state’s child care subsidy program and early learning program. This solicitation includes research and analysis to support these directives. Firms with the experience indicated in the Request for Proposals (RFP) are encouraged to apply. Applications are due September 9, 2019 at 5:00 pm PST.
