DAILY JOURNAL OF COMMERCE PUBLIC NOTICE
City of Renton
Request for Art Proposals
Downtown Monument Sign

On behalf of the Renton Municipal Arts Commission (RMAC), the City of Renton is seeking one or more artist to create designs for (4) monument signs that will be installed at key entry points in the historic downtown core. The City plans to commission the artwork from one or more artists working in the community. The opportunity is open to visual artists working in any medium, provided the design can be digitally reproduced as a vinyl wrap.

The goal is to select art that celebrates the rich culture and history of the region. The selected artists should consider involving local partners, such as the Renton History Museum, tapping knowledge of local historians and researching images and information about the city center, or involving local residents from different generations and perspectives. The end result should generate civic pride in the project and the downtown.
