PURPOSE/OVERVIEW/SCOPE OF WORK

University of Washington, Housing & Food Services (HFS) is seeking proposals for interior repair, patching (drywall and plaster) and painting for one residence hall during summer 2024. McMahon Hall, North Tower is estimated at 110,040 sf with each floor at 9,170 gross sq. ft., including activity center, (2) main lounge area, student emergency rooms, hallways, restrooms, student clusters (hallways, student rooms, student lounge area, shared bathrooms), corridors, recycling, and kitchen areas.

Painting Contractor shall be known as “Vendor” in this document and will be responsible for all customary prep work associated with interior painting as well as the protection for standard room furniture, existing floor materials, and resetting furniture to the standard configurations upon completion. Building floors shall be known as “Levels” to match construction drawings’ terminology. HFS - Sr. Facilities Design Manager/Project Manager will be known as Owner representing for this project. There will be both drywall and plaster/concrete repair. UW is doing some of the repair for the cluster restrooms before the paint project begins. HFS does not know hidden conditions in the student cluster and student rooms of every single room or area for this project. Awarded contractor to prep and repair drywall and plaster/concrete as part of the scope of work.
