PURPOSE: Pierce Transit is holding an Open House requesting industry comments on its upcoming Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project in the 14.4-mile Pacific Avenue/State Route 7 Corridor from Downtown to Tacoma Dome Station to Spanaway. Pierce Transit anticipates utilizing the GC/CM delivery method and is seeking approval from the State of Washington Capital Project Advisory Review Committee’s Project Review Committee (PRC) on July 25, 2019. PROJECT LOCATION: The BRT Project is located in the 14.4-mile Pacific Avenue/State Route 7 Corridor from Downtown to Tacoma Dome Station to Spanaway.
PROJECT BACKGROUND: Pierce Transit in cooperation with the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (Sound Transit), Federal Transit Administration, Washington State Department of Transportation, City of Tacoma, and Pierce County, is constructing a corridor-based BRT System. This System will serve the City of Tacoma’s Central Business District, The Tacoma Dome Station, Parkland, and Spanaway via the Pacific Avenue/State Route 7 Corridor.
