National Small Business Week is from May 5-11, 2019. In recognition of the weeklong celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation, King County is hosting a free workshop that will feature our new Innovation Plan that has a goal of providing a greater number of contracting opportunities to small businesses, local entrepreneurs’ personal stories of growth and accomplishments, and the launch of our new online regional small business certification program.

Our partners from the Port of Seattle, Seattle Colleges and Sound Transit will share information on their respective small business programs and upcoming contracting opportunities. The Washington State Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises will share information on the role of this office in supporting small businesses owned by minorities, women and disadvantaged persons through education and certification.

**This event can be counted toward meeting the 15 hour SCS training requirement.
