Description: The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Portland District, is exploring holding ongoing quarterly training/outreach events for small businesses from the Construction and Supply/Services sectors interested in doing business with us . The catalyst is to best prepare small businesses to ensure maximum participation in the long range (2021) planned Seismic Retrofit and Rehabilitation of the Department of Veteran's Affairs (DVA) Portland Medical Center, but the proposed training topics will benefit ALL small business contractors looking to work with USACE on ANY requirement. The initial April 10, 2019 event's agenda will include an overview of the upcoming DVA Project by Portland District technical personnel to be followed by an exchange with the small business community on shaping what USACE Portland can offer to best prepare them for increased participation in all of the District's upcoming acquisitions. Portland District has already developed training modules that address the submittal process, safety, and quality control that are tentatively planned as offerings.
