Affordable Housing Architecture RFQ - Aberdeen
On behalf of The Moore Wright Group, an Aberdeen based nonprofit, we are requesting qualifications for general architectural and engineering services for a proposed affordable housing and community services development, and rehabilitation services on existing low-income single family homes. The new development will provide housing to a population including homeless at entry families, permanent supportive housing, and potentially other special needs populations based on needs assessments. The vacant parcels include roughly 2.1 acres of multi-family zoned land located in Aberdeen next to TMWG’s headquarters. There are eight single family homes anticipated to be eligible for renovation funding, all of which are located within a few blocks. Please see site map attached.
The scope of services may include but is not limited to; preparation of preliminary plans and developing cost estimates for funding applications through the Washington State Department of Commerce and private funders; final design and engineering; developing cost estimates; governmental approvals; construction management; and implementation of the Evergreen Sustainable Development Standard as it pertains to the development.
Early work will include developing a scope of work for renovating the existing single-family housing for a potential Department of Commerce Rapid Capital Housing Acquisition application for the 2nd or 3rd round this fall. The larger new development is anticipated for 2023 funding applications and is still in feasibility, feedback from a design team would be helpful in guiding the project vision.
