Project Description: The Project consists of the renovation of a 34,524 gross-square-foot education facility and a 14,428 addition for use by South Seattle College and associated site work over an approximately 39,000 SF site. The scope includes an extensive full building remodel of the existing concrete structure including all systems and the building envelope. The courtyard of the existing U-shaped structure will be infilled with new two-story steel frame construction. The finished building will include shops, classrooms, administrative and support spaces. New mechanical, plumbing, compressed air, life safety, lighting, low voltage and photo voltaic systems are included. Demolition and hazardous materials abatement is required. The construction extents will be limited to the area adjacent to the building as existing utilities and services are available on site although utility and site work is required outside the designated construction area. New paving, detention system, walkways and site amenities will be provided at the access drive and ADA stalls directly in front of the building and around the building. Pedestrian pathways to the building will be improved and landscaping added.
