City of Tekoa

2018 I & I Reduction Project

Sealed bids will be received until 11:00:00 a.m, May 11, 2018, at the Tekoa City Hall, 419 Washington St. (P.O. Box 927), Tekoa, WA, 99033, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

This project consists of the following work:

• The base bid will include replacing or pipebursting approximately 3,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer lines that are experiencing extremely high amounts of infiltration and inflow, the installation of new manholes and related work in three locations within the City of Tekoa.
• Additive Alternate A includes replacing approximately 810 linear feet of additional sanitary sewer lines along E Main Street, installing additional manholes, installing a new sewer service line and related work.

Each proposal must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by cash, a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, payable to the City of Tekoa, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid.  The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and payment bond, each in the full amount of the contract price.

Forty (40) working days will be allowed to complete the Base Bid work. Fourteen (14) additional working days will be provided if Additive Alternate A is awarded.

Contract documents may be procured from Century West Engineering upon payment of a $30.00 non-refundable plan fee for each set (postage not included).  A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. on April 30, 2018 at Tekoa City Hall.  For information regarding the proposed work, contact Matt Morkert, P.E. of Century West Engineering at (509) 838-3810.

This project is funded through the Washington State Community Development Block Grant Program with federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  All work performed will be subject to the higher of the prevailing State or federal wage rates. Award of the construction contract is contingent upon approval by the funding agency.

The City of Tekoa shall have the right to reject any or all bids not accompanied by bid security or data required by the bidding documents or a bid in any way incomplete or irregular.
