Sealed proposals for the construction of the CORDATA/STUART/HORTON SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS ES-0548, Bid #53B-2019 project, will be received by the City of Bellingham, 2221 Pacific Street, Bellingham, Washington, 98229 at the Purchasing Office until August 7, 2019, at 1:00 a.m., and thereafter will be publicly opened and read.
The improvement consists of: Restriping of Cordata Parkway, Stuart Road and Horton Road to reduce travel lanes and add buffered and delineated bicycle lanes. Also included is a roundabout at the intersection of Horton and Cordata and two pedestrian crossings of Cordata near the new Cordata Park currently under construction. Minor lighting improvements and pedestrian curb ramp inprovements are included.
Price Range: $700,000 - $900,000

All proposals must be upon the Bid Proposal form provided by the City of Bellingham and must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, cash, money order or bid bond payable to the Finance Director in an amount equal to our exceeding five percent (5%) of the total bid. No other form of bid security is acceptable. A one hundred percent (100%) payment and performance contract bond will be required; provided that for projects of thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) or less, at the contractor's option, retainage of fifty percent (50%) will be held until releasable under RCW 39.08.010 in lieu of a payment and performance contract bond.
The right is reserved to postpone making the award for a reasonable length of time, to reject any and all bids, or to waive irregularities not affecting substantial rights.
