REQUEST FOR BIDS
Custer Way Water and Storm Improvements

SUBMITTAL OF SEALED BIDS:
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the City Clerk at Tumwater City Hall, 555 Israel Road SW, Tumwater, Washington until 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 31, 2019, for the Custer Way Water and Storm Project. Bid proposals will be received only at the office of the City Clerk. Proposals received after the time fixed for opening will not be considered.

BID OPENING:
All bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 31, 2019, at Tumwater City Hall, 555 Israel Road SW, Tumwater, Washington, for this request for bids.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
The work to be performed will include the furnishing of all labor, materials, services,equipment and incidentals necessary to complete the project including the installation of approximately 1,270 linear feet of water main; 1,107 linear feet of storm sewer pipe; 1 water quality treatment structure; 2,020 tons of HMA; 2,400 square yards of concrete pavement removal; 7,000 square yards of planing; and other work, all in accordance with the Contract Documents.

All bid proposals shall be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and all other contract documents, which may be obtained through Builders Exchange of Washington. Any questions regarding work description or the explanation or interpretation of the bid documents must be directed to Brandon Hicks, City Engineer, in writing at 555 Israel Road SW, Tumwater, WA 98501 or via email at bhicks@ci.tumwater.wa.us a minimum of 48 hours prior to bid opening.

RESERVATION OF RIGHTS:
The City of Tumwater reserves the right to reject any or all bids and/or any portion of any bid, and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bid or in the bidding, and determine which bid or bidder meets the criteria set forth in the bid documents. The City shall reserve the right to reject single items or combinations of bid items. No bidder may withdraw their proposal after the hour set for the opening thereof, or before award of contract, unless said award is delayed for a period exceeding thirty (30) days.

The City of Tumwater in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of
Transportation, subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby
notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.
