CWSSDA Long Range Planning & Prioritization Consultant RFQQ 2022-010
Formed in 1922, the Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA) consists of all
1,477 locally elected school board directors from across Washington. As a state agency, per
chapter 28A.345 RCW, WSSDA supports its members with research-based leadership
development resources, policy, legal guidance, and legislative advocacy. This work is of critical
importance because school board directors build the future of public education by setting the
policy, governance, and budgetary priorities for all of Washington's 295 school districts serving
approximately 1.1 million students.
The purpose of this procurement is to recruit a professional facilitator to assist the WSSDA Board
of Directors in the creation of long range planning and prioritization to meet the association
vision, mission, equity statement, and goals, as set by our membership, within the parameters
of our staffing and budgetary capacity. WSSDA’s vision, mission, equity statement, and goals
are set by vote of our membership at a general assembly and serve as the parameters by which
the board of directors govern the association. The WSSDA Board of Directors sets the
association’s direction, prioritization, budget, and operating policies/procedures to enact the
voice of our members. The members of WSSDA also vote to establish beliefs, in the form of
Permanent Positions, and desired legislative actions, in the form of Legislative Positions.
