Submittals of qualifications will be received by Central Washington University (CWU) from consulting firms interested in providing professional services for the Health Education Project Program Review and Facility Condition Study on CWU’s Ellensburg campus. The project is to house the Health Education program and accommodate its existing and future enrollment and program growth, and provide cost effective accommodation of the university level students, faculty, and programs. The study will develop options in coordination with CWU’s Master Plan and program needs.

 

Scope of Work

 

Provide Architectural/Engineering services consisting of all programming, facility condition analyses, cost estimation, document generation, and other related services necessary to produce a study and scope recommendation. At the option of the university, A/E Basic and selected Additional Services for design, construction documentation, bid and construction administration for this project may be negotiated in the future.  The Health Education building’s total project cost is estimated at $60 million (hard and soft costs).

 

Firms will be considered based upon the following:  1) Standard set of Federal Form 330 for each firm in the team; 2) demonstrated expertise in architecture, site planning, mechanical, electrical, structural, telecommunications, LEED requirements, and cost estimating; 3) documentation and examples of previous higher education program reviews and facility condition analyses; 4) examples of work on higher education physical education facilities, 5) qualifications of key personnel; and 6) professional references.  Submittal should include each item enumerated above and specifically address team expertise in relation to higher education academic physical education facilities. Partial submittals will not be considered.

 

This is not a request for proposals.  Submittals will be accepted until the hour and date noted above.  Send 6 copies of submittals, identified as “CWU Health Education Project Program Review and Facility Condition Study”, to Joanne Hillemann, Senior Architect, Capital Planning and Projects, Central Washington University, 400 E. University Way, Ellensburg WA 98926-7523.  Send questions to joanne.hillemann@cwu.edu.  Teams selected as the most highly qualified, based upon an evaluation of the data submitted, will be contacted to schedule oral interviews with the selection committee.  Interviews are projected to occur in October 2019.
