PRE-BID WALK-THROUGH:
2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 14, 2018, meet at the Facilities Conference Room Lab 2 Building, Room 1254.

SCOPE OF WORK:
The project includes repairs to an existing exterior concrete
stairway adjacent to the Daniel J. Evans Library Clock
Tower. Repairs include concrete spall and crack repair,
replacement of rotten GL guardrail from Level 3 to Level
3.5, removal of the existing epoxy overlay at concrete stairs
south of gridline P seismic joint, relocate and add a handrail
bracket at a rotten connection, and repair the base cover of
the guardrail at Level 1.
Additive Alternate 1 includes new epoxy overlay/traffic
coating on bridge levels 2 and 3 between gridlines M and P.
Additive Alternate 2 includes thoroughly scraping, sanding,
and prepping the wood guardrails before painting, and also
includes removal and repair of any rotten areas of wood at
stair railings south of gridline P seismic joint, all levels of
stair.

The State of Washington prevailing wage rates are applicable for this public works project located in
Thurston County. Bidders are responsible to verify and use the most recent prevailing wage rates. The
rates may be found on the Department of Labor and Industries website located at
http://www.lni.wa.gov/TradesLicensing/PrevWage/WageRates/. A copy of the most current Prevailing

Wage Rates can be viewed in the Owner's offices or the Owner will email a copy of any applicable wage
rates upon written request.

Voluntary workforce diversity goals for apprentice participation are identified in the Instructions to
Bidders and Supplemental Conditions. Bidders may contact the Department of Labor & Industries,
Apprenticeship Section, to obtain information on available apprenticeship programs.

Voluntary numerical MWBE goals of 10% MBE and 8% WBE have been established for this project.
Achievement of the goals is encouraged. However, no minimum level of MWBE participation shall be
required as a condition of contract award. Bids will not be rejected or considered nonresponsive if they
do not include MWBE participation.
