Project Name: Discovery Road Bikeway, Roadway, and Sidewalk Project
Project Description: This project provides for the improvement of Discovery Road, from Rainier
Street to Sheridan Street, to add a two-way bikeway, reconstruction of the roadway and sidewalk,
asphalt removal, sidewalk removal, curb and gutter, center median construction, access ramps,
textured cement concrete, grasscrete pavers, driveway reconstruction, gravity block wall, storm
drain pipes and catch basins, new water main with connections to existing systems, new sewer
pipes, street lighting, pavement marking, roadway signing, planting, irrigation, erosion control, and
traffic control.

Schedule: The Project shall be substantially completed within 140 working days. The City’s planned
Notice to Proceed date is September 18, 2023.

Engineer’s Estimate: $3.1 million to $3.5 million

Bid Date: Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Port Townsend, at the Front Desk located at
City of Port Townsend, 250 Madison St., Suite 1, Port Townsend, WA 98368 until 2:00pm on June
15, 2023.

The City of Port Townsend reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive minor
irregularities or informalities in the Bidding.

Bid Bond: All Bid Proposals shall be accompanied by a Bid Proposal deposit in cash, certified
check, cashier’s check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of
such Bid Proposal. Should the successful Bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish
satisfactory bonds to perform the Work within the time stated in the Specifications, the Bid
Proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Port Townsend.|
