Kiewit Infrastructure West Co.is seeking quotes from Small & Disadvantaged Business subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers in a multitude of heavy construction and building work scopes & disciplines to partner with Kiewit -Hoffman Redmond Link Constructors in support of our Downtown Redmond Link Extension (DRLE) Design-Build Project proposal to Sound Transit.
Sound Transit’s DOWNTOWN REDMOND LINK EXTENSION (DRLE) PROJECT, includes:
- Design & Build 3.4 Miles of Light Rail Transit (LRT) -Redmond Technology Center (NE 40th St) to a new SE Redmond Station (NE 70th St.- Marymoor Park) to new Downtown Redmond Station
- Guideway types include: At Grade; Retained Fill; Retained Cut; & Elevated Guideway Structure
- Build (2) Stations: SE Redmond Station (NE 70th); Downtown Redmond Station (116th Ave NE)
- DRLE Work includes: All civil, structural, architectural, landscaping, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and systems elements to provide a fully functioning light rail extension

Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. is seeking quotes from Subcontractor and Supplier partners including Small Business (SBE’s) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE’s) including Minority and Women owned firms, as certified by Washington State’s Office of Minority and Women Business Enterprises (OMWBE). Sound Transit has set DBE and SBE goals for both the Design and Construction phases of this project.
In order to assist certified small business subcontractors and suppliers, we will divide scopes of work into economically feasible units, and will assist firms with meeting delivery schedules, providing points of contact regarding bonding, lines of credit, and insurance; and giving information so that Small Business can secure their own sources of equipment in order to maximize Small & Disadvantaged Business participation. Kiewit requires Subcontractor Performance & Payment Bonds; Material Supply Bonds; and use of our standard contract forms.
