INVITATION FOR BIDS

Sealed bids will be received by Opportunity Council at 1419 Cornwall Avenue, Bellingham WA 98225 until 3:00 PM on September 27, 2018, for the general contract for construction of two buildings at the East Whatcom Regional Resource Center: one 4,900 SF wood frame structure and one 6,000 SF steel prefabricated structure. The project, located at 8251 Kendall Road (WA Hwy 547) two miles north of Mt. Baker Hwy (WA Hwy 542), includes concrete work, floor, wall and ceiling finishes, walk-in cooler and freezer, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection system, and site work.

Bidding documents for the project are prepared by Environmental Works.

Availability of Bidding Documents: Bona fide general contractors currently licensed in the State of Washington may obtain the contract documents from the Western Construction Resources (WCR) 2215 Midway Lane, Bellingham, WA 98226; phone (360) 738-0370. Bid security: A certified or bank cashier’s check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount, payable to Opportunity Council, or bid bond executed by a licensed bonding company is required with each bid.

Rejection of Bids: The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.

All work performed on the project will be subject to the higher of prevailing state or federal Davis-Bacon wage rates. This project is funded in part by a Federal grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Community Development Block Grant program of Washington State.
