Environmental Mitigation Site Maintenance
The Contractor will provide all management, materials, equipment, labor, and other items necessary to perform environmental mitigation site maintenance services at various Thurston County locations on an as needed basis.
Activities to be performed by the mitigation contractor include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Replanting native plants that are lost due to wildlife browse, drought, or human behavior.
2. Planting additional plants to further enhance the site if existing site is too sparse or plants were removed in the process of completing other remedial actions. Planting includes plugs, bare root, container and live stake stock.
3. Invasive plant species and noxious weed removal by manual, mechanical, or chemical methods. Any chemicals (herbicide/pesticide) to be used must be an approved Washington Department of Agriculture product and may also be tied to the herbicide applicator license.
4. Watering to maintain healthy vegetation. This work may be completed using on-site water or trucked in from off-site.
5. Mowing of open areas of grass or low growing herb groundcover (e.g. clover) shall be mowed to a height of no more than six (6) inches. Piles or clumps of mowed and trimmed materials shall be raked and removed from the site. Contractor shall be careful not to mow over recently installed native plants on the site
