NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by Whatcom County Administrative Services Finance/Purchasing at their office on the fifth floor of the Whatcom County Courthouse, 311 Grand Avenue Suite 503, Bellingham WA 98225 for the following:

Ferry Terminal Painting, CRP No. 917015

UNTIL: 2:30 PM Tuesday April 30, 2019

At which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. All bidders and any other interested people are invited to be present. Late submittals will not be considered.

Whatcom County Public Works Engineering Division is requesting bids for the improvement of the Gooseberry point Transfer Span (Bridge No. 503) and Lummi Island Transfer Span (Bridge No. 507) at the Whatcom County Ferry Terminals, as further described in the bid documents.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday April 25, 2019 at the Gooseberry Ferry Terminal, 2600 Block of Lummi View Dr., Bellingham, Washington, 98226. Only bidders who register at the mandatory pre-bid meeting will be qualified to submit bids. The meeting will include a discussion about TERO, walk through of the site, and bidders will be able to ask any questions of the Design Engineer, Lummi Nation TERO Officers, or Whatcom County Public Works staff who will be involved in this project.

Award will be made to the lowest qualified bidder. Whatcom County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any irregularities. Whatcom County encourages disadvantaged, minority and women owned firms to respond.

Whatcom County, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.

As required by law, the E-Verify System may be required.
