SCOPE:                                            The work consists of:

  • Hazardous material abatement of Hertz Hall, a 2-story building of approx. 54,000 gsf.
  • Demolition of Hertz Hall, with some material to be crushed and re-used on site.
  • Site clearing and grading for future construction of Health Sciences Building.
  • Site utilities for future construction of Health Sciences Building.

 

ESTIMATED COST:                         $2,000,000 – $2,200,000

 

TIME/DATE/LOCATION:                 Sealed Bids will be received up to 2:00 PM Pacific Time, Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Central Washington University’s Jongeward Plant Services Building, located at 205 E. 11th Avenue, Ellensburg 98926, Bids received after the day and hour above stated will not receive consideration and will be time/date stamped and returned to bidder unopened. 

 

                                                          Shortly after 2:00 PM Pacific Time, bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud.

PREBID CONFERENCE:                The Project site is available for inspection by prospective bidders at a pre-bid site meeting and walk-through on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 convening at Room 116, Jongeward Plant Services Building, 205 East 11th Avenue, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time.  Attendance at this pre-bid meeting is recommended but not mandatory as there will be limited opportunity for bidders to visit the Project site and ask questions concerning the Project subsequent to the meeting.

Bidders are solely responsible for insuring the completeness of their bids should they not obtain and review the entire set of plans and specifications.

The State of Washington prevailing wage rates are applicable for this public works project located in Kittitas County.  Bidders are responsible to verify and use the most recent prevailing wage rates.  The “Effective Date” for this project is the Bid Proposal due date above.  The applicable prevailing wage rates may be found on the Department of Labor and Industries website located at https://fortress.wa.gov/lni/wagelookup/prvWagelookup.aspx.

 

Voluntary numerical MWBE goals of 10% MBE and 6% WBE have been established for this project.  Achievement of the goals is encouraged.  Bidders may contact the Office of Minority and Women's Business Enterprise to obtain information on certified firms. No bidder may withdraw its bid after the hour set for the opening thereof, unless the award of the contract is delayed for a period exceeding 60 days.
