NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS:

 

A prior construction contract demolished the existing building to the extent indicated on the Contract Documents for this project. The work of this Contract will include, but not be limited to, Earthwork, Utilities, Landscape, other on-site and off-site work, and construction of a new steel frame, three story school building of approximately 100,000 sf. The cost range is $50,000,000 to $52,000,000. This project includes federal funding through the E-Rate program which bidders will need to provide a valid 498 ID number within 30 days of the bid opening.

 

264102. 1: Sealed Bids will be received by Seattle Public Schools (“SPS” or “Owner”) through and including 2:00 p.m. on July 27, 2021 at the Seattle Public Schools’ John Stanford Center, Contracting Services Section, 2445 Third Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98134 for Kimball Elementary School Replacement – Phase II.

 

Part 2: Prior to 3:00 p.m. on such date, bidders shall submit bids on HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical subcontractor work listings. Shortly after 3:00 p.m., bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the day and hour stated above will not receive consideration.

 

Part 3: Prior to 2:00 p.m. on July 29, 2021, within forty-eight (48) hours of the time and date for the Receipt of Bids, bidders shall submit Structural Steel & Rebar subcontractor work listings at the Seattle Public Schools’ John Stanford Center, Contracting Services Section, 2445 Third Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98134 for Kimball Elementary School Replacement Phase II. Shortly after 2:00pm, subcontractor work listings will be publicly opened and read aloud. Work listings received after the day and hour stated above will not receive consideration. Owner reserves the right to postpone the Bid opening.

 

The Project site is available for inspection by prospective bidders at a pre-bid site meeting and walk-through at

3:00 p.m. on July 1, 2021 at Kimball Elementary School, 3200 23rd Ave S, Seattle WA 98144. Check in at the main office. To best comply with current COVID-19 health and safety guidelines, meeting participants are required to adhere to the following: do not attend if not feeling well or currently COVID-19 positive, provide and wear own personal protective equipment (PPE) including face mask, and maintain six-foot social distancing as feasible. Bid documents, associated addenda and Bidders List are available at no charge at Builders Exchange of Washington, Inc. On-line Plan Center (www.bxwa.com). To access documents on-line with Builders Exchange, go to “bxwa.com” and click on “Posted Projects,” “Public Works,” “Seattle Public Schools” and “Projects Bidding.” It is recommended that bidders “Register as a Bidder” in order to receive automatic email notification of future addenda, to download addenda, and to be placed on the “Bidders List.” Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda and will need to periodically check the on-line plan room for addenda issued for this project. 2. Reprographic Outlet

 

General contractors may pick up a maximum of two complete sets of Bidding Documents, and mechanical and electrical subcontractors may obtain one complete set of the Bidding Documents for a refundable deposit of $150.00 per set, by business or cashier’s check only, made payable to Seattle Public Schools at the office of:
