Kiewit Infrastructure West Co (Kiewit) has been selected as the General Contractor/Construction Manager (GC/CM) for the Elliott West Weather Treatment Station (EWWTS) project performed for King County Wastewater Treatment Division. As part of this project, Kiewit is procuring an Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection System designed to replace the existing chlorine disinfection system at the current EWWTS facility. Kiewit is procuring this UV Disinfection System through the Alternative Selection process as described in RCW 39.10.385.

Per RCW 39.10.385, Kiewit held a public hearing on May 19, 2025 regarding the use of this alternative selection process. Kiewit reviewed and considered the comments received from the hearing and issued a final determination to use this alternative selection process on May 21, 2025. Kiewit has now received proposals for the UV Disinfection System and begun evaluating these proposals based on various non-economic scoring factors. The Fee and Cost Proposals will be scored after a Public Opening of the Fee and Cost is held.
