PINE STREET SUBSTATION BATTERY UPGRADE
PEND OREILLE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
Introduction
Public Utility District No. 1 of Pend Oreille County (the District), is requesting bids from prospective distributors for the materials to complete a substation battery upgrade. The existing Ni-CAD batteries at the Pine Street Substation are aging and need to be replaced. The Pine Street Substation has recently been expanded to allow for a second battery bank. With the aging batteries and the new expansion there will need to be two battery banks provided connected in parallel along with a charger for them.
Scope of Work
The District will be performing the work to complete the substation battery upgrade which involves replacing the existing 125V DC batteries with a 100AH rating as well as adding a second set with the same 125V DC 100AH rating along with a charger for them. The materials required to complete this upgrade are two new sets of batteries along with a rack that will fit the existing footprint of 62 inches wide and 28 inches deep. The rack and batteries will also need to be at a maximum height of 65 inches at the top of uppermost battery in the rack. Material proposals should be for NI-Cad or other non-lead acid batteries due to lack of proper ventilation and detection for lead acid batteries. The charger will need to be DNP3 or SNMP, with DNP3 being the preferred option.
