Project Manager or Management Firm

The Chehalis River Basin Flood Control Zone District (District) is a government entity in Washington seeking a new project manager or project management firm for an innovative, large-scale flood-damage reduction project. Information about our entity and our project may be found on our website, https://www.chehalisriverbasinfczd.com/. The project management solicitation can be found on the Resources page of our website or via this direct link. Updates will be posted on the Resources page.

The deadline for proposals is April 30, 2025.

Our project is a flow-through dam for flood control on the mainstem Chehalis River just upstream (south) of Pe Ell, WA. This innovative structure allows fish and sediment to pass freely through the river, but very rarely, in times of catastrophic flooding, can retain water to reduce flood damage. Once the flood danger has passed, the water is slowly released back into the channel until the river flows freely once again. If constructed, it would be the first facility of its type in North America, although there are similar Japanese facilities highlighted by the UN Climate Programme.

The District’s project is currently under state and federal environmental review. We are seeking a project manager or project management firm to supervise teams of consultants as the District's representative, act as a public face of the District, interact with native american tribes and state and federal agencies, coordinate internally with the District's administration and Board, and generally helm this large project's review and permitting. If you are looking for a world-class endeavor for your next position, please review the solicitation and apply!
