The purpose of this Pre-RFI is to provide a Funding Opportunity Preview from the PSP Puget Sound Ecosystem Monitoring Program (PSEMP) for the 2025-2027 Monitoring to Accelerate Recovery Projects.

Announcement:
PSP is excited to announce the preliminary schedule of the next cycle of Monitoring to Accelerate Recovery funding for monitoring projects. While we have not finalized exact dates, we share this high-level overview to allow more time for interested parties to prepare, including seeking creating collaborative teams.
We expect to award up to $750k, hinging on state and federal allotments. More specifically:
•$400k for Category 1 - Vital Signs status and trends and
•$350k for Category 2 - Addressing questions, gaps, and information needs in the recovery system

Preliminary schedule:
•Early January: Release of the solicitation for project proposals
•February: Informational webinar
•Late March: Proposals due
•May: Notification of successful proposals

*Please Note: This is a notification announcement ONLY. No questions will be received or answered until the Question-and-Answer (Q&A) period begins, which will be when the RFI is released in January 2025.

Background about Monitoring to Accelerate Recovery:
PSP funds projects every biennium that address priority monitoring information needs to inform and accelerate the recovery of Puget Sound. Select projects are funded via a RFI project solicitation and evaluation process. All projects are expected to meet the objectives of the PSEMP strategic plan to increase collaboration, support adaptive management of Puget Sound recovery efforts, and improve communication to increase access to credible information that guides recovery decisions.
