Notice is hereby given that PROPOSALS will be received by Whidbey Telecom, for:
Point Roberts Middle Mile Infrastructure Project Engineering

Whidbey Telecom is seeking proposals from qualified licensed professionals, licensed and certified by the State of Washington and the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries to perform engineering services for a fiber optic middle mile infrastructure project. This project is partially funded by NIST Financial Assistance award number 53-40-MM408 awarded to Whidbey Telecom by the National Institute of Standards and Technology under the Department of Commerce, National Telecommunications Information administration Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) No. NTIA-MMG-2-2022, Middle Mile Grant Program. This the project is funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Whidbey Telecom is facilitating the project to construct a fiber optic middle mile infrastructure network.
The goal of this project is to construct a total of 47.6 miles of new terrestrial underground fiber and approximately 63.1 miles of undersea fiber spanning from Point Roberts to Whidbey Island Washington. The project as described in this Request for Proposal (the “RFP”) requires the design and engineering of fiber optic middle mile infrastructure within the project scope.
The primary objective of this Request for Proposals is to Engage and retain an Engineer who has the required experience, qualifications, and labor resources available to complete the design and staking of the fiber optic middle mile infrastructure fiber network construction project. All work performed on this project may be subject to state or federal prevailing wage rates. Whidbey Telecom, is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
