REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS

Freedom Farm

 

 

The Olympia School District (District) located in Thurston County, Washington is seeking Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from architectural firms to provide design services for the improvements to our Freedom Farm.

Statement of Qualifications

Proposals are due by October 9, 2025, at 4:00 PM. Please submit to the following:

Submit an electronic copy (PDF), via email, of the qualifications clearly marked in the subject line “Statement of Qualifications for OSD Freedom Farm”. Qualifications shall be limited to a total of 12 pages including statement of interest.  Proposals shall be straightforward and concise in communicating the consultant's capabilities and to satisfy requirements of this request.

 

The Olympia School District

Project Details

The Olympia School District is asking for a Request for Qualifications from an Architectural firm and consultants to provide the following design service for OSD Freedom Farm Project:

Location: 4801 Siskiyou St SE, Olympia, WA 98501

  • Site Access lanes with lighting 

  • Storm water infrastructure

  • Sewer and water connections (restrooms, fire hydrants, and future connections)

  • Permanent restrooms

  • Parking

  • ADA pathway

  • Other small projects to address on the site.

 

The MACC is $2,500,000

Construction to start June 2026, and to be completed by August 20, 2026. The firm should be familiar with Thurston County’s permitting process, and have experience and/or knowledge of US Fish and Wildlife habitat conservation and related property mitigation.

Selection Process

The Olympia School District plans to screen all proposals on October 9, notify firms by October 10, and short-list three firms for interviews scheduled for October 17, 2025.

 

Submission of Qualifications

Submit an electronic copy (PDF), via email, of the qualifications in the time frame noted above.  All information and materials requested shall be provided under a single cover. In order to standardize the responses and simplify the review process all qualification proposals must be organized in the manner set forth below:

  1. Statement of Interest in two pages or less.

  2. Recent relevant experience in the design and engineering of similar scope of work.

  3. Qualifications of the staff assigned to the project.  At a minimum, provide information on the assigned design architect, project architect and their experience with similar education facilities.

  4. The architectural design firm's management approach to these projects. Specifically address the structure of the project team, cost control, project scheduling, staffing availability, and client communications.

  5. Experience and/or knowledge of habitat conservation and related property mitigation. 

  6. List at least 3 references from recently completed projects.

  7. Identification and qualifications of all design team engineers, consultants and sub-consultants.
