REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

FOR CIP 24-11, STEWART RD ITS,

The City of Sumner solicits interest from consulting firms with expertise in providing professional services in the area of civil engineering and municipal public works projects. Services are expected to last 12 months with the option for the City of Sumner to extend further for additional time and money if necessary. Consultants will be considered for the below project.

The City of Sumner reserves the right to amend the terms of this “Request for Qualifications” (RFQ), to circulate various addenda, or to withdraw the RFQ at any time, regardless of how much time and effort consultants have spent on their responses.

Prospective consultants will be held to Federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) requirements for federally funded projects and to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Civil Rights Act language adopted by the City of Sumner.
 

Aspects of this project may be subject to WA State Prevailing Wage rules, filings and requirements.

There is a 17% DBE Goal for this phase.

Project Description

Stewart Road serves as the boundary line for the City of Sumner with the Cities of Auburn and Pacific. This project aims to add, replace, and upgrade interconnect conduit and cabling and associated signal hardware for the purpose of coordinating traffic signals and devices within the project area, as needed. There are seven existing traffic signals, one existing railroad crossing signal, and one planned signal (development driven) in the project area. This project will upgrade the hardware at each intersection as needed and include a corridor timing design. This project may also include ADA improvements and other improvements to complete the coordination efforts.

 

The City of Sumner reserves the right to retain the services of responsive firm(s) for subsequent phases (R/W, CN) associated with this work.

 

Project Assumptions and Exclusions:

1. No right of way acquisition.

2. No modification of illumination.

Submittal Deadline

Please submit an electronic version of your Statement of Qualifications in a single .pdf document by email or other electronic means to courtneyl@sumnerwa.gov no later than 2:00 PM on April 9, 2025. Hard copy submittals are not required. The official time of receipt will be determined by the timestamp on the email received by the designated email address. Any proposal received after the specified date and time may be rejected and may not receive any further consideration by the City.  Postmarks will not be accepted.
