CITY OF SEATTLE NOTICE TO CONSULTANTS FOR

RFQ 23-036QP Pioneer Square Historic Areaway Restoration, Phase 1 (FHWA) (STIP ID SEA-263, WSDOT 9917(043))

Submittals Due: Friday, September 13, 2024 @ 4PM

 

The City of Seattle, through its Department of Transportation (SDOT) solicits interest from qualified consulting firms with expertise in engineering design services with the intention of awarding the consultant through 100% design, and potential for construction management services.

 

Project Description: This project will provide design for rehabilitation of two areaways composed of a brick street wall and brick arches with steel support beams as sidewalk support and concrete sidewalk surface. Areaways will require rehabilitating and preserving the areaway structure while enhancing the street wall to support increasing vehicle loads and current seismic design requirements. This project will also resurface the existing sidewalk surface.   

 

This negotiated hourly rate contract for the design phase is estimated to be up to $450,000 with an anticipated project schedule of Q3 2024 through Q2 2025 for design. SDOT reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm(s) for any subsequent phases (PS&E, CM) associated with this project.

 

This project is anticipated to be federally funded in part through the FHWA. This project has a voluntary 10% SBE goal.

 

Consultants will be evaluated and ranked on qualifications of key personnel, firm experience, ability to meet schedule, approach to work, familiarity with WSDOT/FHWA standards, past performance, and approach to meet the voluntary SBE goal.

 

Consultants must register with a free account at Bonfire, SDOT’s Procurement Portal (https://cityofseattle.bonfirehub.com/), to access solicitation documents, meeting links, and submit their response. A virtual pre-submittal meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 22, 2024 @ 1:30-2:30PM. Electronic Submittals must be uploaded to Bonfire by Friday, September 13, 2024 @ 4PM.
