Spokane Life Science Asset and Landscape Study RFP

Greater Spokane Inc. (GSI) requests proposals from interested parties to analyze Spokane County’s suitability as a location for life sciences companies and/or life sciences contract services companies and to provide recommendations for a strategic plan, asset map and timeline to retain and attract companies from within the industry. Life science contract service companies include contract research organizations (CROs), contract development organizations (CDOs), contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) for both drug substance and drug product, medical devices or other needs, or the typical combination of development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs). The recommendations and analysis should be based upon a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis whereby Spokane County’s strengths and weaknesses as a life science and/or a life sciences contract services location are elaborated, and the relevant opportunities and threats present in the marketplace are identified and the top three areas to pursue for near-term growth are provided. Comparisons with similarly sized and slightly larger communities are requested.  Further, a market analysis should be conducted to determine the feasibility, square footage demand and market desirability of wet lab space in Spokane County to accommodate life sciences and/or life sciences contract services companies for existing and future needs.  The intended outcomes should include a supply chain analysis which will tell us what the missing pieces are, where to find them, who is holding each, how to put it in the puzzle, and which part should go in first to make the puzzle bigger and attract the other missing pieces.  It should also provide business development organizations the data to share with interested recruitment opportunity organizations.
