DESCRIPTION OF WORK

(March 13, 1995)

This Contract provides for the improvement of

SR 16 Purdy Creek

0.65 miles of SR 16 in Pierce County MP 17.35 to MP 18.00, by realigning the stream and

replacing the existing 6’diameter corrugated metal pipe with a two 206’ prestressed concrete

girder bridges.

 

  SR 302 (Spur)/ Purdy Creek

      1.19  miles  of  SR  302  (Spur)  in  Pierce  County  MP  15.89  to  MP  17.08,  by  realigning  the stream and replacing the existing 6’ interior span x 6’ interior rise x 70’ box culvert with

a 77’ precast prestressed concrete slab bridge. 

 

The  Work  includes  temporary  stream  diversion  systems,  erosion  control,  dewatering,  clearing, clearing & grubbing, tree removal, structure and channel excavation, construction

 of temporary SR 16 crossover, temporary SR 302 (SPUR) detour, temporary and permanent illumination  system,  temporary  shoring,  temporary  drainage,  removing  the  existing  

SR  16 culvert, removing portion of SR 302 (SPUR) culvert, constructing three bridges supported by drilled   shafts,   bridge   railing,   four   reinforced  concreter   cantilever retaining

walls,   four structural earth walls, secant pile wall abutment and wing walls, backfilling, grading, crushed surfacing base course, HMA base lifts, planing and HMA wearing course,

fencing, drainage, pavement  marking,  signing,  guardrail,  high-tension  cable  barrier  system,  removing  cable barrier and resetting, stream bed restoration, seed, mulch, and 

compost, soil decompaction, planting,  traffic  control, and  other  work,  all  in  accordance  with  the  attached  Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications.
