Project Introduction
This project includes for the improvement of SR525, Mukilteo Ferry Terminal, MP 8.47 vicinity, a Federal Aid (FTA-funded) project, by construction of ferry terminal including buildings, toll booths, fishing pier, overhead loading, berthing structures, steel piling, concrete work, retaining walls, paving, utilities, landscaping, and demolition of existing ferry terminal facility and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications.
Work Scopes
Washington State Ferries (WSF) is relocating the Mukilteo ferry terminal to the tank farm site, one-third of a mile east of the existing terminal.
The project Summary:
• Provides new passenger, maintenance, and supervisor buildings, and four new toll booths.
• Installation of new ferry terminal building.
• Installation of vehicle transport bridge.
• Installation of overhead passenger loading.
• Includes a new signalized intersection and expanded vehicle holding area to reduce congestion on SR 525.
• Improves connections to transit with a new transit center and location near the Sounder Commuter Rail Station.

DBE/SBE Goals and Requirements
The project has an Apprenticeship goal of 15% and DBE goal of 6%. Walsh intends to negotiate with all certified SBE and DBE firms to encourage project participation, including consideration of quotes for any item of work, portion of an item, or combination thereof.
Bonding and Insurance
Performance and payment bonds with a surety company, subject to the approval of Walsh, are required of subcontractors with subcontracts for $250,000 or more. We will reimburse bond premiums up to 2%.
