Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. is seeking quotes from Women-Owned and Minority-Owned Enterprises (WMBE) subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers in a multitude of heavy marine
construction work scopes. Kiewit is providing bidding opportunities to WMBE’s with a goal to enter into Subcontract Agreements with WMBE firms equal to at least 3% of our total Bid Price to the Port of Seattle for their Terminal 5 Berth Modernization Project
PORT OF SEATTLE’s - TERMINAL 5 BERTH MODERNIZATON PROJECT, includes:
- Demolition of a portion of the existing Wharf, Piling, and Timber Fender System
- Furnish & Install Waterside Concrete Piling, Timber Piling, and Landside Steel Pipe Piling
- New concrete marginal Wharf Face, a unit Fender System and Crane Rail
- A New Landside Crane Beam installed parallel to the waterside; and Berth Dredging /Disposal
- Install new Electrical substation; Power/Data distribution behind Wharf to Electrical Substations
Subcontractor Work Scopes include but are not limited to:
- Building & Site Demolition
- Concrete: Furnish & Pump Wharf Concrete
- Demolition: Remove/Dispose AC Pavement
- Electrical – Site Work, Switchgear, Sub-Station
- Furnish Piling: Concrete, Steel. Timber Piles
- Crushed Surfacing Top & Base Course
- Civil Work (Soil Disposal, Crushed Rock, HMA)
- Disposal of Concrete & Timber Piles
- Environmental Protection/Erosion Control
- Furnish Fender System
- Utility Systems (Water, Sewer, Storm water)
- Railroad Track Removal/Installation

Women-Owned and Minority-Owned Business Enterprises (WMBE’s) to help support the Port of Seattle goal of increasing contracting opportunities for these small business groups
In order to assist certified small business subcontractors and suppliers, we will divide scopes of work into economically feasible units, and will assist firms with meeting delivery schedules, providing points of contact regarding bonding, lines of credit, and insurance; and giving information so that Women-Owned and Minority-Owned Business Enterprises (WMBE’s) can secure their own sources of equipment in order to maximize WMBE participation. Kiewit requires Subcontractor Performance & Payment Bonds; Material Supply Bonds; and use of our standard contract forms.
