This grant program is for the purchase of or conversion to electric motors and engines for fishing
vessels, including vessels for patrol, research, or other uses that ensure tribal fishing rights and
activities.
- Funds can be used for project management, engineering, new vessels, vessel repowers, engine
retrofits, charging pedestals, make-ready infrastructure, ongoing operations and maintenance,
and other project-related costs.
-All work associated with this round of grants must be completed by June 30, 2027.

Grant Eligibility
Eligible applicants: Federally recognized tribes or enterprises operated by federally recognized tribes
whose traditional lands and territories included parts of Washington or were directly adjacent to
Washington’s border.

This is a competitive process and not all applications will be selected. Applications that do not clearly
meet eligibility requirements listed above will not be evaluated.

Grant Amounts
COMMERCE has budgeted $4,750,000 of Climate Commitment Act Funds for this competitive funding
round. The maximum amount per award is budgeted at $1,187,000.
Payments will be made on a reimbursement basis for deliverables accepted and allowable expenses.
Through the Applicant Information form (Exhibit B in the RFA), Budget Template (Exhibit C in the RFA),
and copies of estimates from all selected subcontractors, applicants should indicate what grant
activities they propose, the cost for each activity, and a proposed schedule for deliverables.

Submission of Applications
Applications are due on October 23, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. The primary method of submission
is through the online Smartsheet form. Applicant must download, complete, and submit Exhibits A, B, and
C, which are available in editable Word Document format and in PDF format through this Box link.
