GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK:
Voluntary seismic improvements to two existing elementary schools. Architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical scope of work is in kind replacement of existing fixtures and finishes where they are affected by seismic improvements.
PROJECT SCHEDULE:
Voluntary Seismic Retrofit at Commodore Options School and Ordway Elementary School shall be Substantially Complete on or before August 18, 2025. Final Completion for all work shall be achieved no later than August 28, 2025.
SITE WALK:
The facility will be made available for inspection by interested contractors on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Commodore Options School from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM and Ordway Elementary School from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Potential contractors shall carefully inspect the condition of existing walls, flooring, and fixtures included in the scope of work.
BIDS DUE:
Bids will be received by the undersigned no later than 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2025, at the Administrative Office, 8489 Madison Ave. NE, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110, or electronically to: dfenwick@bisd303.org for: BAINBRIDGE ISLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT SEISMIC RETROFIT AT COMMODORE OPTIONS SCHOOL AND ORDWAY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BOND:
A one hundred percent (100%) contractor’s Performance and Payment Bond is required. The Bond must be delivered to the Bainbridge Island School District within ten (10) days after the issuance of Notice of Intent to Award Contract to the successful bidder. The bond must be approved before an award is final. The Bond shall be written in statutory form for Public Work, as required by the State of Washington, RCW 39.08, by a surety firm licensed to do business in the State of Washington with a minimum A.M. Best Rating of A-/VII.
A Public Works Contract is required. The Contract must be executed and returned to the Bainbridge Island School District ten (10) days after issuance of Notice of Intent to Award Contract. Approval of the Contract is required before award is final.
Certificate(s) and Endorsement(s) of Insurance are required. The Contractor must be prepared to furnish them within ten (10) days of issuance of Notice of Intent to Award Contract. The insurance coverage shall be in the amount and coverages indicated in Conditions of the Contract. The certificate must have a Cancellation Clause requiring notification by certified mail to the Bainbridge Island School District, thirty (30) days prior to cancellation.
The Bainbridge Island School District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities.
The right is reserved by the Bainbridge Island School District to postpone contract award for the period of thirty (30) days after the bid opening.

No bidder may withdraw its bid after the hour set for the opening thereof, or before award of contract, unless said award is delayed for a period exceeding thirty (30) days.
