Public notice is hereby given that the City of Shelton has issued a Request for Bids for the above-named project, with sealed bids due no later than the date and time given above. Bids received after the time fixed for Bid Opening will not be accepted or considered.
The Work to be performed under this contract includes providing labor, equipment, and some materials necessary for upgrading water meters for approximately 3,050 of the City’s commercial and residential water users. The upgrades consist of replacing existing manual read water meters with Sensus Iperl or Omni R2 Meters (as defined within), as well as new meter boxes and lids, and other associated parts and supplies, to implement Automated Meter Reading. New equipment associated with this upgrade (meters, meter boxes and lids, transmitters, setters, and yolks) have been procured and will be supplied by the City; all other materials as warranted and needed, including site work restoration, shall be provided by the Contractor.

Written questions regarding the project may be directed to the Procurement & Contracts Administrator, Brooke Kilts, at brooke.kilts@sheltonwa.gov. In your email subject line, reference the project title. All questions must be in the body of the email rather than in an attachment. No response will be made to questions unless they are submitted in writing to the person noted above and received by 1:00 p.m. on Thursday August 1, 2024. The City will not be responsible for unsuccessful submittals of questions.
Responses to questions received by the deadline will be distributed to all bidders registered on the project through Builder’s Exchange, as well as posted to the City’s Bidding Opportunities webpage by 4:00 pm Wednesday August 7, 2024. The City reserves the discretion to group similar questions to provide a single answer or not to respond when the requested information is confidential. The answers are not typically considered an addendum.
The City of Shelton, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
