Whatcom Co Bid #23-68; N Lake Samish Dr Bridge No. 107 Replacement
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by Whatcom County Administrative Services Finance/Purchasing at their office on the fifth floor of the Whatcom County Courthouse, 311 Grand Avenue Suite 503, Bellingham WA 98225 for the following:
NORTH LAKE SAMISH DRIVE BRIDGE NO. 107 REPLACEMENT
UNTIL: 2:30 PM Tuesday, October 31, 2023
At which time and place the bids will be publicly opened (live via GoToMeeting) and read aloud. All bidders and any other interested people are invited to be present. Late submittals will not be considered.
Whatcom County Public Works requests bids for the North Lake Samish Drive Bridge No. 107 Replacement, CRP No. 913006, Fed Aid No. BRS-37VV(001) project. This project provides for the improvement of North Lake Samish Bridge No. 107 including a work access trestle, remove existing bridge, 4-foot and 6-5 foot diameter drilled shafts, 267-foot three-span superstructure, structural earth walls, specialty bridge railing system, bridge illumination system, aggregate fill, HMA paving, buried utilities (storm, sewer, dry utility conduits) and other work, as further described in the bid documents.

There is a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Condition of Award goal of 17 percent for this Contract. The Bidder shall submit with the bid completed DBE Utilization Certification and Confirmation forms with the bid.
There is a Special Training Provision minimum requirement of 2,000 hours for this Contract.
Award will be made to the lowest qualified bidder. Whatcom County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any irregularities. Whatcom County encourages disadvantaged, minority and women owned firms to respond.
Whatcom County, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.
As required by law, the E-Verify System may be required.
