Youth Cannabis and Commerical Tobacco Prevention Program

Project overview:

These projects will support community-based and youth-led projects that aim to: • Prevent youth substance use. • Change perceptions of harm among youth and adults. • Strengthen youth leadership and skill building. • Improve healthy coping skills.

Projects may receive up to $15,000. The funding period is October 3, 2025, through June 30, 2026, for community-based projects. School-based projects have the option to extend through December 2026. We welcome creative projects that empower youth as leaders and support prevention efforts focused on enhancing youth resiliency and protective factors. Funding is flexible and may be used for youth stipends, staffing, events, materials, and technology.

Eligibility and requirements:

Who is eligible to receive funding? Community-based agencies, schools, faith-based communities, city government agencies, and not-for-profit organizations that serve youth in Pierce County may apply. The lead agency must be 501(c)(3) or have equivalent registration with the IRS. To expand our reach and encourage new partnerships, we will also prioritize organizations that have not received funds previously.
