2nd Avenue Watermain Extension
SUBMITTAL OF SEALED BIDS
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the City Clerk at Tumwater City Hall, 555 Israel Road SW, Tumwater, Washington until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019, for the 2nd Avenue Watermain Extension. Bid proposals will be received only at the office of the City Clerk. Proposals received after the time fixed for opening will not be considered.
BID OPENING
All bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Tumwater City Hall, 555 Israel Road SW, Tumwater, Washington, for this request for bids. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish a satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Tumwater.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This project provides for: The construction of approximately 475 linear feet of 24-inch and 40 linear feet of 10-inch watermains, gate valves, fire hydrants, blow-off assemblies, connection to existing watermains, and other Work all in accordance with the Contract Documents.

All bid proposals shall be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and all other contract documents which may be obtained through Builders Exchange of Washington. Any questions regarding work description or the explanation or interpretation of the bid documents must be directed to Brandon Hicks, Transportation Manager, in writing at 555 Israel Road SW, Tumwater, WA 98501, soon enough to allow a written reply to reach all prospective bidders before the submission of their bids.
RESERVATION OF RIGHTS
The City of Tumwater reserves the right to reject any or all bids and/or any portion of any bid, and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bid or in the bidding, and determine which bid or bidder meets the criteria set forth in the bid documents. The City shall reserve the right to reject single items or combinations of bid items. No bidder may withdraw their proposal after the hour set for the opening thereof, or before award of contract, unless said award is delayed for a period exceeding thirty (30) days.

The City of Tumwater, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 23 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.
