Montlake Neighborhood Market/Mobile Food Service Opportunity, Seattle WA
Are you interested in opening a small market or mobile business to serve the Montlake neighborhood during Montlake Project construction? WSDOT wants to hear from you! The Washington State Department of Transportation is providing an opportunity for a vendor to establish and operate a small community market or mobile food service on a portion of the former Montlake Market property. We would like to make sure that all potentially interested vendors know about this opportunity.
For many years the Montlake Market provided services to the Montlake neighborhood as well as to travelers through the busy interchange. With the closure of the Montlake Market at the end of 2019, WSDOT is using much of the property to complete construction work and permanent improvements related to the Montlake Project. In hopes of offering a reliable, community-focused service in place of the market, this unique opportunity is now available.
A full Request for Proposal is available online at the WSDOT Ad & Award site. The packet provides more information about the opportunity, proposal requirements, a submission form, and results from a recent community survey that showed support for a temporary market/food service.
